YouFibre goes live in second Welsh town

Jun 21, 2022

Barry residents in South Wales now have access to YouFibre, a new ultrafast and ultra-affordable internet provider, which has today announced that it has connected its first customer in the area, marking the second town in Wales that is now live on YouFibre’s services.

Situated 20 minutes from the Welsh capital, Barry is home to over 50,000 people and in recent years has seen its tourism industry expand, drawing people to its golden sand beaches and array of attractions. It’s well known as seaside resort following the success of the highly popular Gavin & Stacey, the award-winning BBC TV comedy drama. In addition, its viaduct provides an impressive example of Victorian engineering and it was once the site of pilgrimages to the chapel of 6 th century Celtic Saint Baruc, from whom it is believed that Barry derives its name.

YouFibre, which can offer its customer speeds of up to 10,000Mbps compared to the average of 79.1Mpbs, marked the occasion with a presentation of champagne and a year’s free broadband for the lucky customer. YouFibre also presented the customer with a year’s free YouMesh solution, which enables full Wi-Fi coverage in every room of the house.

Sharon Declaire, YouFibre’s first customer in Barry, commented: “A strong, consistent Wi-Fi connection is needed for everything these days yet finding a provider that can offer that at an affordable price seems harder than ever. YouFibre has come up with an offer that fits all our needs at the right price, however, and not only have we received fast and reliable internet but an easy and quick installation service in the process. Now the whole family is able to stream stress free.”

The introduction of an ultrafast internet provider to Barry will ensure it is one of the UK’s best-connected areas, enabling residents and businesses to enjoy the full benefits of ultrafast and reliable internet services.

YouFibre, which was founded in 2019, has seen exponential growth in recent months as it expands its offer across the UK and today marks its second move into Wales alongside Bridgend where it announced its first customer in April this year.

Ryan Battle, Managing Director of YouFibre, commented: “We are thrilled to be back in Wales and providing our ultrafast broadband to the residents of Barry. At a time when inflation is at a 40-year high, people don’t just need fast and reliable broadband, they also need it at an affordable price that suits their needs. At YouFibre, we’re able to provide this, whether this means low-cost deals, or no contracts involved.”

YouFibre offers a range of packages, starting at £17 per month with an average speed of 50 Mbps, increasing to £50 per month for hyperfast broadband services, with speeds of up to 10,000 Mbps.

YouFibre has 85% of customers rating its service as ‘excellent’ on Trustpilot, with the most recent commenting: “Installation was simple and hassle free and the installers were extremely polite and helpful. We're achieving the speeds that were promised and now have reliable internet access right through the house which we weren't getting with our previous supplier. I would have no hesitation in recommending YouFibre.”
